- What submissions are considered as within scope of interests of the conference?
Please refer to the Call for Papers document for scope and topics of interest. All submissions related to complex adaptive systems will be considered in scope. However, submissions without such relationships will be considered out of scope. For example, a paper that focuses on AI (Artificial Intelligence) methodology without discussing its relevance to complex adaptive systems will be considered out of scope for the conference and should be submitted to an AI-focused conference. - What if I am submitting a paper with a simple adaptive system? Would it be considered in scope?
A system that responds to changes (in the environment) is adaptive. In terms of engineered systems, these changes are reflected as mission and requirement changes. As many such changes are uncertain, unexpected, for example, due to emergent behavioral properties, they are complex. Therefore in general, adaptive systems related papers would be considered in scope. Examples include but are not limited to human career adaptation, smart city planning, etc. For details, please refer to the Call-For-Papers. - Where can I find useful resources about adaptive systems?
Adaptive systems have been discussed in many fields, such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, biology and biological engineering, urban studies, economics, and the environment. There are many resources on adaptive systems, and the following are just a few examples: INCOSE/IEEE/Stevens Institute of Technology’s SEBoK (Systems Engineering Body of Knowledge) contains a chapter on System Adaptability. It provides a summary on adaptive systems from the Systems Engineering perspective:

Papers published in previous Complex Adaptive Systems conferences, available through ScienceDirect. Some technical programs are available at:
https://complexsystems.mst.edu/previouscomplexconfernces/ - Where will the papers be published and indexed?
The papers presented at the CAS 2025 will be published as a proceeding. Publisher information will be updated on the conference website shortly. In addition, the published papers will be submitted to Scopus and Engineering Village (Ei) for indexing by the publisher. - While I expect that a full paper template will be shared, could you please let me know in advance how many pages will be required for full paper?
The full paper template will be made available on the conference website under the Authors tab. The typical page limit for a conference is 8 pages and may vary depending on the format of the publisher.
