After a year of rotating in 5 labs, I finally decided to conduct my thesis in one of them. And also in another one, when I did not even rotate 🙂 The first one is the computation biology group led my Manolis Kellis. And the second one is Abugoot lab specializing in gene therapy and aging led by Omar Abudayyeh and Jonathan Gootenberg. My project is on rejuvenation of bone marrow. Bone marrow is very exiting from the aging perspective since all adult blood and immune cells stem from a single cell type – hematopoietic stem cells, and thus by rejuvenating only one cell type, it is possible to rejuvenate the whole blood and immune systems.
