Manolis Kellis at Paul Glenn Symposium on Aging

Sat, 05/18/2019

Attended the annual Paul Glenn Symposium on Aging for the second time. The keynote speaker of the day was Manolis Kellis who gave a talk on the single-cell dissection of the Alzheimer’s disease. It was impressive how addition of single-cell RNA-seq data analysis could provide deep insights into the mechanisms of a disease. Through deconvolution of bulk RNA-seq with single-cell gene expression signatures, the Kellis group successfully calculated the abundance of different cell types over a lifetime with implications about which cell types are driving the disease.
