We’ve had our first round of data from the magnetometers on four different allsky units from the night of 01-18 into 01-19. We weren’t able to see any aurora because of cloud cover, but we were curious to see if there were any correlations between the different the data signals. Here’s a sneak peak at the plots!

There seems to be some significant event around hour 4 (corresponding to 2 AM here in AK). We won’t be able to use this to pull out any interesting geophysical information, as the cameras for this first test were not carefully oriented to north and were not placed to avoid other signals (e.g. machinery). That said, it’s very encouraging to see that the data from the different cameras are well-correlated in time.

Check back soon for data from more of the cameras together and hopefully correlated to imagery of the aurora.
