    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Under the supervision of the Superintendent of Buildings:

    • Supervises a crew of workers and performs hands on tasks related to installation, repairs, and maintenance to heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment; Systems including refrigeration units, air and water filters, motor, fans, air compressors, condensers, pumps, boiler, chiller plants and automatic temperature controls.
    • Inspects equipment for malfunction and makes adjustments and/or corrections.
    • Checks equipment and systems for proper temperature, operation and climatic conditions.
    • Lubricates motors and bearings.
    • Replaces worn and defective parts; and performs related work and other tasks as required.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum two (2) years demonstrated experience in institutional HVAC and Refrigeration Systems operations, maintenance, repairs, and installation. 
    • Certificate of completion from accredited vocational school curriculum in HVAC, Refrigeration Training Program. 
    • Current EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant Certification. 
    • Commonwealth of Massachusetts License as Refrigeration Technician or Refrigeration Contractor. 
    • Valid Class D Driver’s License.
    • Experience with direct digital control-based energy management systems preferred. 

     PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  All labor positions, skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled in the Cambridge Department of Public Works require a combination of:  Lifting between 25-100 pounds, proper bending, squatting, stretching, pushing, climbing, dragging, pulling, and reaching.  Ability to climb ladders.

     WORK ENVIRONMENT:  Exposure to all weather conditions.  Work in a moderate to high noise level environment caused by sound of machinery or powered equipment being used. Occasional odor may occur during work.  General inside buildings environment including entry and exit into confined spaces.

    JOB PURPOSE:

    The Youth Recruitment and Enrollment Specialist (YRES) is primarily responsible for recruiting and enrolling Boston Metro North opportunity youth at YouthBuild Just A Start. This new and exciting position will work closely with youth, staff, and program leadership to build relationships and systems to identify, evaluate, and process program applications. The YRES will work energetically to connect with youth and advocates (e.g. families, teachers, community organization staff, etc.) and compassionately support them through the enrollment process. Once applicants have been accepted into the program, the YRES will ensure proper documentation is collected and filed, and that all students are enrolled in our funder databases.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Recruitment

    • Support applicants through the application process, including facilitating informational sessions (in-person and virtual), scheduling interviews, coordinating academic assessments, and assisting with new student orientation
    • Develop campaigns, reports, and list views within Salesforce to organize, track, and connect with applicants
    • Maintain and analyze recruitment data in Salesforce to inform our recruitment strategy
    • Leverage alumni participation in recruitment efforts and encourage student referrals

    Marketing

    • Design physical and digital marketing materials to drive interest in YouthBuild JAS
    • Build connections with partners and applicants through digital marketing campaigns, and advertising including email and text, as well as physical flyering
    • Manage social media presence to build awareness of program activities and generate enthusiasm and engagement

    Partnership Development

    • Establish and maintain effective recruitment partnerships with administrators, staff, representatives, and the public
    • Facilitate informational sessions for local high schools and community organizations, incorporating compelling data and student testimonials
    • Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive database of recruitment partners
    • Support the Assistant Director to cultivate new recruitment partnerships

    Enrollment

    • Distribute, collect, upload, and file student records in compliance with funder requirements
    • Become expert in and enroll accepted students into funder databases, ensuring all required documentation is included
    • Report periodically to funders on student demographics, supportive services, and academic, career, and post-secondary education outcomes

    WORK REQUIREMENTS:

    This is a 37.5 hour per week in-the-office position. All employees and long-term consultants are required to be fully vaccinated and follow the organization’s established protocols regarding COVID.

    SALARY AND BENEFITS:

    The annual salary range for this position is $58,000 – $63,000.  In addition to a competitive salary, Just A Start offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical insurance, dental insurance, short term disability insurance, long term disability insurance, life insurance, transportation benefits, early release at 2pm every Friday, 20 PTO days in the first year, 13 paid holidays, volunteer time off, employee assistance program and a 401k savings plan with a 3% employer contribution.

    • Handle loans from application to funding, guiding members throughout the process to ensure efficiency and accurate documentation and information.
    • Maintain knowledge of the organization, our products and services, and industry trends.
    • Refer and cross-sell Credit Union products and services as outlined in our Sales Program to meet the needs of our current and potential members.
    • Demonstrate community involvement by representing the Credit Union while working at local events.
    • Attend training sessions and department meetings as needed.
    • Comply with all state and federal regulations.
    • Float between branches to support the business and scheduling needs of the Credit Union.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Our ideal candidate looks like: 

    Education/Experience: 

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
    • At least two (2) or more years of operations or credit union or financial institution experience preferred.
    • Ability to problem solve, analyze information, and demonstrate professionalism.
    • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently and with a team.
    • Comfortable with technology such as mobile services and online banking services is a plus.
    • Effective time management skills. Ability to exercise good judgment and prioritize multiple demands.
