Application Process
An admissions committee will select the cohort. The committee will review the following information:
- MSWoB application
- A letter of recommendation from a current or former manager. If you have board experience, a board colleague’s letter can be submitted instead (English or Spanish).
- A 2-minute maximum video statement of interest in English.
- Finalists will need to be available for an interview, where English proficiency will be assessed.
WHO SHOULD APPLY
MSWoB is designed for senior professional women who are determined to secure positions on major corporate boards. We seek participants with the dedication, resources, and resilience necessary to navigate a potentially long journey to success.
- Who should apply: Senior professional or recently retired women with operating and management experience appropriate for a major corporate board. This typically means 12+ years minimum management experience
- Fluent English
- Financial literacy* appropriate to serve successfully on a corporate board
- Ability to attend both in-person Roundtables in full
- Ability to travel to the US (MSWoB can provide some visa support)
*The financial literacy requirement for MSWoB: All participants should possess the financial acumen required to comprehend and assess corporate financial statements. This implies operating comfort with the fundamental accounting and financial principles necessary for oversight and strategy-setting purposes.
Criteria for Applicant Selection
1. Relevant Professional Experience: We highly regard applicants with a proven track record in their respective fields, with a preference for individuals with more than 12 years of professional experience.
2. Leadership and Management Skills: We prioritize candidates with strong leadership qualities and effective management skills. Ideal candidates will have at least seven years of experience in leadership roles.
3. Continuous Professional Development: We value individuals dedicated to continuous learning and growth. Preference will be given to candidates who have pursued additional certifications, diplomas, or degrees beyond their bachelor’s education.
4. Advocacy for Diversity and Inclusion: We actively seek candidates who are committed to promoting diverse voices and fostering inclusive environments.
5. Involvement in Non-Profit Boards: We favorably view non-profit board service, particularly board leadership roles, as they are frequent bridges to corporate board service.

Admission decisions will be announced on a rolling basis.
All decisions will be announced no later than Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
The MIT Sloan Women on Boards in Latin America program is designed to prepare participants on how to overcome barriers that result in their underrepresentation on boards. Although the Program is designed to increase the representation of women on corporate boards, it is open to all applicants.
