The School of Science supports a variety of initiatives and programs aimed at building capacity and/or broadening participation in STEM fields.
MITES
The School of Science sponsors a collaboration with the MIT Introduction to Technology, Engineering, and Science (MITES) Program. This program provides transformative experiences that build an exciting, challenging foundation in STEM for highly motivated 7th-12th grade students from diverse backgrounds.
Navajo Nation Math Circles
The School of Science sponsors a collaboration with the Navajo Nation Math Circles (NNMC) Project. Faculty and staff from the Department of Mathematics hold teacher workshops, typically once a semester, for NNMC instructors and participants. SACNAS
The School of Science is part of a coordinated MIT-wide presence at the SACNAS National Diversity in STEM Conference, with the aim of attracting a wide range of student talent to MIT.
Outreach
