The Wallin group is actively looking for well-aligned researchers at all levels of experience, particularly those with strong interests or demonstrated experience in photochemistry, 3D printing, and robotics. Please refer to the following guidelines before inquiring.
Postdoctoral Researchers
Recent PhD graduates, should directly contact T.J. with inquiries. Please include your CV, a few publications (1-3) that best highlight your skills, and a short (1 paragraph) blurb about your proposed proposed post-doctoral research aims and long-term professional goals.
Note: Applicants who have already secured Postdoctoral funding will be given priority.
Graduate Students
Only admitted MIT students should inquire directly with T.J.or lab members.
Students interested in applying to MIT graduate programs should refer to the appropriate department’s application guidance (DMSE, MechE, ChemE, Chemistry, etc). Once admitted, we encourage you to reach out again.
Note: Pre-admission inquiries to join the group are pre-mature and unproductive. Individual MIT faculty members do not make unilateral decisions on graduate student admission. We will not provide feedback on application materials and any such requests will be ignored.
Undergraduates
Current MIT should familiarize themselves with MIT Undergraduate Research Opportunities (UROP) program and inquire with T.J. or lab members about opportunities. Please include a description of your research interest, long-term goals, and timeline.
MIT does host summer research programs for students at other institutions through a variety of programs (e.g. Center for Materials Science and Engineering (CMSE) REU, MIT Summer Research Program (MSRP)). Following your admission, we encourage you to reach out to T.J. directly. Again, please do not inquire pre-admission or request for feedback on application materials.
