The Ridge Club

The first tournament of the season took place on April 5 & 6 at The Ridge Golf Club on Cape Cod, in arguably the best weather we had so far this year, with wind picking up a bit on Sunday. Competing against teams from five other schools in the New England area, the MIT Club Golf Team came in fifth after two very enjoyable days on a course in pristine conditions, particularly for this time of year. Kim and Alex both scored in the Top 10, while less experienced golfers of the team broke 100 for the first time. Had a fantastic weekend out on Cape Cod!

Hyannis Golf Club

The season’s second tournament was held at Hyannis Golf Club, again on Cape Cod. Starting in heavy rain on Saturday and thankful that the club had provided carts, we pushed through a 5.5 hour 18-hole round with slow pace of play and fog on the back 9. Sunday’s round began with a shotgun start at 8 am and in far better weather than we had seen the day before. At times and with a bit of fantasy, the pine tree lined fairways reminded a bit of Augusta National, where the Masters’ final round would see Tiger have a lot more success on the course than we had.
