Indian Pond

On June 9th, we had the pleasure of playing at Indian Pond Country Club in the best golf weather one could have imagined. The course was in great condition and so was the field of scramble pairings, where the winners shot as low as 65. On our side, Alex and Will played a good 73. Only, Alex’s driver did not survive the round, falling victim to a Happy Gilmore on the longest-drive hole. The other two pairs with Andy and Katy as well as Antti and Hem were both struggling to keep up to their game, but, on a positive note, Andy won the par 3 nearest-to-the-pin with a great shot only 3 feet away from the hole. While Andy’s dart remained our only triump, we definitely had great fun and were treated to optimal conditions!

Red Tail

Amidst good ol’ Nor’easters, City Tour Boston treated us to a sunny day full of lush fairways and greens (and for some of us, bunkers and woods, too) at Red Tail Golf Club on May 11th. In our first scramble tournament of the season, our MVPs Kim and Will scored a respectable 2nd place finish with a 4-under 68, with few unfortunate missed putts costing us first place. The rest of us, Antti, Clemens, Brennan, and Cameron, all had our respective struggles, but in the end some highlight birdies were made, and the scenic 18th hole with a cheering clubhouse gallery helped finish our rounds on a positive note.

Shaker Hills

We won the City Tour event at Shaker Hills,* which means we qualified for the City Tour Championship at Pinehurst Resort! The fall season just got that much better! Thank you Nextgengolf for running a great tournament and Shaker Hills for having us!

*With tons of help from reinforcements outside the club. Thanks to y’all!

Shining Rock

The last weekend of July had us at yet another City Tour Boston scramble tourney, this time at the beautiful Shining Rock Golf Club. Our team saw a lot of success, as Kim and Will etched close to the W, finishing T1. If only one extra putt had dropped! For consolation, Kim bombed a win in the long drive competition, while Antti and Clemens scored their virgin eagle with a chip in on hole 13. Onward and upward!
